California Coffee Cake Company
is re-introducing traditional coffee cake to the Bay Area. Founder and Pastry Chef Nancylee Hawkins offers up rustic cakes based on family recipes from her German grandmothers, as well as many flavors of her own creation. The company was founded in 2007 as a boutique venture primarily serving Farmer's Markets and catering corporate meetings & events. In July 2009, Nancylee opened a retail space at Westfield San Francisco Centre and now sells her creations at the Village Market in San Francisco's famous Ferry Building.California Coffee Cake Company
grew out of Nancylee's passion for baking (and her love of coffee and coffee breaks!). She has been making desserts since childhood and continued to bake for her software colleagues and friends, during her many years in senior management at various Silicon Valley based corporations. To compliment her passion for baking, Nancylee completed the Pastry & Baking Arts program at the Culinary Institute of America, Greystone in 2003.Nancylee maintains that the home-made 'just baked' experience does not have to be limited to those lucky enough to have access to a kitchen chair at the table of an eighty-something woman with flour covered hands. Her rustic treats are available as a perfect accompaniment to morning coffee, afternoon tea or as an after dinner snack.
Her creations can also be found in various cafes and markets around San Francisco and the Pennisula.
